Melancholy- gloomy; sad.
After losing the football game the players had a melancholy attitude.

Exemplary- serving as a model or example worthy of imitation.
The dad was an exemplary to his son.

Peculiar- odd or strange.
My friend's bulldog has a peculiar face.

Dread- To anticipate with great fear or anxiety.
The boy was dreading to go up on stage in front of the crowd.

Bough- a limb of a tree.
The bough had wierd twists.

Pious- Practiced in the name of religion.
In church people were pious.

Communion- The act of sharing.
There was a nice communion at a potluck.

Auditor- one who audits accounts.
The teacher was an auditor of the students.

Multitude- a large crowd or gathering.
There was a multitude at the concert.

Eloquence- The quality of being persuasive.
The friend was using eloquence to make the boy do something he didn't want to do.

Despair- To lose or abandon hope.
The kid was in despair when he found out Santa wasn't real.

Hoary- Ancient
The glass bowl was hoary.
